A few of the boys and our friends from Mad Dog Cycles came around this moving to tune it up and do some wheelies. It was a fun morning but sad to see it go. Whoever wins it better bring it back for a service now and then.

It's on it's way to the clubhouse to be paraded around and polished up. I'm trying to work out how to get the video up on the blog. Keep your eyes out ill hopefully have it sorted this arvo.

Rusty Kustoms Biker Build Off

Yesterday Tim and I were at Belgrave, VIC for Rusty Kustoms Biker Build Off with the trike. We added the finishing touches on the way and started well. But not having time for a test ride a stuck throttle and a locked diff powered me straight through turn 2 and took out a street sign. No damage to the bike but whilst wrestling it around a corner and through a ditch my leg hit the carby and snapped the cheap Chinese manifold. That ended our run but the crowd loved the trike and it took out the People's Choice Award.

Thanks to Rusty Kustoms and the organisers, all the other builders and the rad dudes we met on the day.

So I've been slack on the blog finishing the trike. To be honest we were bolting parts on at breakfast stops and when we got here. But we're here and ready to go.

Except the u turn on the track. That could be hairy.

Progress... 3 weeks till the Build Off

We've been pretty lazy with the blog but busy as hell in the workshop. Here's a look at the progress so far. 10.5" Avon Slicks fitted to the rims, hubs modified and machined and the rear axle set up starting to take place. Tank put together from a cut apart smashed Sporty tank off a members bike from an infamous motorcycle surfing incident. Lights found in someones shed. Most of the pieces are there, the next two weeks will be getting it all together and not a minute to soon as it needs to be running and ready to go in Victoria in just under three weeks. No rest for the wicked...

Rubber inbound.

Scored these second hand 10.5"wide slicks for the rear. Gonna need all that traction to hand the 250 single hahaha.

Everyone likes a nice rear end....

So I've started designing how I want to run the rear end on this thing. So much research on diffs and how I could make one chain driven, but at the end of the day this thing was meant to be a budget no bullshit bike. So its gonna skid in corners and be hard to turn. Solid rear axle keeps costs down and less things to go wrong. Whilst drawing it all up I sat the rear wheels intended for the project roughly where they'd end up. Tucked in shirts on this one...

Piecing the puzzle together...

After a good drink and brainstorm session last weekend progress will start being made on the Trike build. Picked up these escort wheels nice and cheap. Next step is to sort out the rear axle set up to accommodate these wheels and make it go and stop (rear sprocket and brakes) then the Hardtail section will be made to suit and get the right stance. Rome wasn't built in a day, but September is creeping up fast.

It begins....

Well the trike in the previous post has been purchased. Just awaiting a chance to drive to QLD to pick it up. Millions of ideas getting thrown around. Can't wait to start cutting shit up.

It's official title from here on out is "Ball Tearer". Thanks Frosty.
